12 pilots, 24 hours, 1 aircraft. On June 25-26th, these 10 aviators are going to take shifts on board of a Cirrus SR22 – single engine 4 seater aircraft – and land on 100 different airfields located all around continental France.
That's the challenge 100/24.

MESSIER-DOWTY AND LAMC JOIN FORCES TO PROPOSE INTEGRATED LANDING GEAR SYSTEM FOR THE CHINESE C919 AIRCRAFT
A few days ago, Messier-Dowty and LAMC signed a Letter of Intent in Shanghai for the Chinese short-to-medium range aircraft programme being led by COMAC. This agreement covers the complete landing gear system for the future aircraft.

ASIAN CUSTOMER ORDERS AIRBUS A320 PRESTIGE
A private Asian customer has placed an order for an Airbus A320 Prestige, becoming the first to order this type of aircraft in the region. The aircraft is fitted with extra fuel-tanks for intercontinental range.

FRENCH DGA DELIVERS FIRST PRODUCTION MODEL OF MEDIUM-RANGE SURFACE-TO-AIR SYSTEM TO AIR FORCE
This past May, the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) delivered the first production model of the medium-range surface-to-air SAMP/T system to the Air Force. The system will now enter a phase of technical and operational evaluation by the Air Force Trial Centre (CEAM).

ARIANESPACE AND EADS CASA ESPACIO SIGN PURCHASE CONTRACT FOR ARIANE 5 ACUs
On Tuesday at the Paris Air Show, Arianespace and EADS CASA Espacio signed a purchase contract for a series of payload adaptors (ACUs) to be used on the 35 Ariane 5 launch vehicles in the PB batch.

AIR NOSTRUM ORDERS TEN ATR 72-600s AND 10 OPTIONS
ATR and the Spanish airline Air Nostrum today signed a purchase contract for ten ATR 72-600s and options for 10 more aircraft, worth $425 million, options included. Deliveries of these aircraft, which are configured with 70 seats, will begin in 2011.

TECHNOMETRA TO DELIVER AIRBUS A320 LANDING GEAR SUBASSEMBLIES TO MESSIER-DOWTY
Technometra Radotin, a member of the Czech Aero Vodochody Group, has signed a contract with Messier-Dowty (Safran Group) to supply main landing gear subassemblies for the Airbus A320. The contract was signed for 5 years with an extension option.

AIR ASIAX ORDERS 10 AIRBUS A 350 XWBs
AirAsia X, the long-haul, low-cost subsidiary of Malaysia’s AirAsia Group, has just placed a firm order with Airbus for ten A350 XWB aircraft. The airline chose the A350-900 version for its fleet, configured to seat more than 400 passengers in a two-class layout. The A350 is powered by 2 new-generation Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines.
BOMBARDIER SELLS EIGHT Q400 AIRCRAFT TO MIG AVIATION 3 LIMITED
MIG Aviation 3 Limited has signed a firm order for eight Q400 aircraft, including five Q400 NextGen airliners, and has taken options on an additional eight Q400 NextGen airliners. The value is nearly US $224 million and could rise to nearly US $468 million. The aircraft will be operated by Pantheon Airways under the Olympic Air brand name.
AFRIJET AIRLINES ORDERS FOUR ATR 72-500s
The Nigerian Afrijet Airlines and ATR today signed a purchase contract for four ATR 72-500s for a catalogue price of US $80 million. They will be equipped with PW 127M engines. Afrijet is a new customer for ATR. ATR has already sold 998 aircraft since the beginning of the program.
SIA ENGINEERING COMPANY AND SAGEM CREATE A MAINTENANCE JOINT VENTURE IN SINGAPOUR
SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) and Sagem (Safran Group) have signed an agreement to form an avionics maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) joint venture in Singapore.

SAGEM AND STEMME PRESENT PATROLLER, A LONG-RANGE SURVEILLANCE UAV
Sagem (Safran Group) and Stemme have unveiled Patroller, a new long-range surveillance UAV for both defence and security missions, at the Paris Air Show. The UAV made its first flight on June 10, 2009, in Finland.
ISRAELI DEFENCE CHOOSES IRON FIST SYSTEM FOR ITS NAMER
The Israeli Defence recently chose the Iron Fist system, produced by Israel Military Industries, as the Active Protection System (APS) of its new “Namer” (Hebrew for tiger) heavy armoured personnel carrier.
MAGELLAN AEROSPACE CHOSEN FOR F-35 JOINT STRIKE FIGHTER HORIZONTAL TAIL
Magellan Aerospace has been awarded a contract to produce horizontal tail components for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). This is the first JSF-related contract that BAE Systems has awarded to Magellan.
FRENCH MINISTRY OF DEFENSE RENEWS ITS TELECOMMUNICATION SATELLITE SERVICES CONTRACT
This 4-year contract is intended to supply French armed forces worldwide with custom civilian and military satellite communications as a complement to Syracuse. The DIRISI (Interforces Directorate of Infrastructure Networks and Information Systems) determined that the Ministry of Defence’s space capacity requirements could be as high as 100 MHz.
DGA AWARDS DESIGN OF UAV LANDING SYSTEM TO DCNS AND THALES
The French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) has awarded DCNS and Thales the second phase of the D2AD design project to design and validate a universal landing system for rotary-wing UAVs. The trials will be conducted in Arizona and will use Boeing’s unmanned AH-6U Little Bird helicopter.
UAVS IN AIR TRAFFIC: MIDCAS PROGRAMME LAUNCH
Five European nations put the European Defence Agency in charge of launching the MIDCAS programme, which will allow UAVs to fly in unsegregated airspace alongside other aircraft.
FRENCH DEFENSE AGENCY ORDERS AMPHIBIOUS LANDING CRAFT FROM CNIM
The French Defence procurement agency (DGA) has awarded Constructions Industrielles de la Méditerranée (CNIM) an order for “fast” amphibious landing craft (EDA-R) based on the “Landing CATamaran” concept that the company developed with its own capital. The contract comes to €125 million.
LIGHT HELICOPTERS: DAHER SIGNS NEW CONTRACT WITH EUROCOPTER
Eurocopter has just chosen Daher to develop and produce a new generation of airframes (cockpits) for its light helicopter line. Production is set to begin in early 2012 at Daher-Socata’s plant located in Tarbes.
EUROCOPTER DELIVERS ITS 100th EC155 TO DANCOPTER
Eurocopter delivered an EC155 B1 to the Scandinavian company Dancopter at the Paris Air Show. This is the 100th EC155 produced and the 900th helicopter (sold) from Eurocopter’s Dauphin family. Today, some 300 customers operate the Dauphin worldwide.
AIGLE AZUR ORDERS ITS FIRST A319
The French private airline Aigle Azur has placed a firm order with Airbus for one A319 aircraft. This is the first time the airline has purchased a new aircraft directly from Airbus. This new A319 will be configured in a comfortable two-class layout and will be powered by CFM-56 engines from CFM International.
